CSS is an acronym for a programming language and stands for Cascading Style Sheet. Among other things, CSS is used by web designers to color, size and space out the various elements on a web page. Almost everything you see on web sites can be styled using this versatile design tool.
The beauty of CSS is that a change made to a typical web site element, something like a paragraph heading for example, only needs to be made once and only in one place. This single change automatically cascades through an entire site changing every instance of that element saving designers many hours of work. Pictured here are examples of text and images that have been styled using the CSS programming language.
